Post-Halloween Wrap Up

October 31st has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean that you have to give up your Halloween costume!

With all of the Lady Gagas and Balloon Boys running around town, it’s nice to see Meezers keeping on their unique costumes and displaying some originality… We still love you, Gaga.

Sneaking on rooftops as a ninja, casting spells in a wizard’s cap, and flapping a pair of personalized wings are sartorial decisions we condone year-round. Who says you can only enjoy dressing up one night out of the entire year?

The holidays are fast approaching (Heck, pretty soon it’s going to be full-blown turkey time), but that doesn’t mean you should hang that costume in your closet forever!

Little Boots!

It looks like Meezers really like to accessorize!

Some of the most popular items are the new specialty boots.

Flamingos Longhorn Slippers

We can’t tell if people in Florida prefer the Flamingos or if people in the Wild West prefer the Longhorn, but it seems certain that people somewhere scary chose these Monster Boots (see below)!

The Flamingo Boots are most popular with both boys and girls, with well over 6,000 people acquiring them altogether. The Monster Boots, more popular with girls, came in second with about 3,000 people. Last, but certainly not least, over 2,500 people loved the Longhorn Slippers.

Braaaains & Braaaawn

Hello, Boils & Ghouls!

You know what they say… Anything can happen on Halloween!

This year, I’m preparing for tricks AND treats. Likewise, this crazy clip from the cult classic The Worst Witch is making me think of my favorite Halloween movies. You know, the one’s that aren’t hilariously bad. There’s nothing like watching horror with best friends in a dark, dark room.

There’s also tons of new stuff in theaters. I’m wondering if I should go see something spooky like Paranormal Activity. Saw 6 is coming out this weekend, but those movies can be kind of gross…

I’ve already seen Zombieland, but kind of want to see it again. That movie was funny and scary, all in one. While zombies are deader than dead, it proved that they sure are alive and kicking.

If there was a zombie uprising, do you think you would survive?

You better watch more movies to find out… I’ve seen everything from the first real zombie movie, Night of the Living Dead, to scary modern takes like 28 Days Later. I’ve also played pretty much every zombie videogame ever!

I’m ready for the zombies to come and get me. Bring it, undead masses!

At the same time… My skin’s been kind of itchy. I’ve been feeling a little tired. And a little hungry… What’s going on?

Are you feeling okay? A lot of other people in MeezNation are reporting similar symptoms. People are getting hungrier and hungrier… There seems to be only one thing in the entire world that can satisfy us. We just can’t put our finger on what it is…

Except… brains. Live braaaaains!

Wow, talk about a hiatus… We’ve been super busy creating the craziest Hangouts ever.  Know this, Meez Insiders: We’re back and will be updating the blog regularly! The timing couldn’t be more perfect because Halloween, our fave holiday, is right around the corner.

Who are those Meez behind the masks?

Hi-dee-ho, Meezers! Your faithful Forum Insider here with some new, cool, uber-political stuff…

Tina Fey’s hilarious impersonation of Republican Veep nominee, Sarah Palin, on the season opener of Saturday Night Live last week has confirmed what we all already knew, the Presidential election season is in full swing.

Meez is right there on the campaign trail with all the rest of America, eager to see what happens in this historical election. We’ve even gone so far as to create a Obama-Biden Townhall & a McCain-Palin Townhall in Burbia.

Plus, we’ve made a couple of things for the MeezMaker which allow you to show off which candidate you support in a fun, somewhat stylish way. See if you can guess the Meezer behind the mask!

Cool Video: Hip Hop Hijabis

In a cool coincidence, the day before the start of Ramadan we found this cool YouTube video posted by Samah007 featuring a Meez avatar in one of our hijabis rapping to Poetic Pilgrimage’s “Definition of a Pilgrim.” We think that Samah007 used her Meez avi in a really cool way to express her personal beliefs – way to go!

It’s HAMMER time! DanceJam comes to MeezNation…

Today I have a story of true love to tell you.

It all started several months ago when Sean Ryan (our CEO) told myself and Lucy Meez about this super cool new website called DanceJam.

DanceJam is this superfly website which allows user to watch & rate the hottest dance videos; AND, enter dance battles & contests.

We already loved the site – as it’s really fun to watch different people’s versions of My Dougie – but, guess who one of the principle guys behind the website is?????

MC HAMMER!

That’s right. The.MC.HAMMER.

Lucy & I love Hammer. Often when we’re sitting in HQ one of us will look up from what we are doing and say “It’s Hammer Time!” Then we bust a move in our chairs, cracking ourselves up and making the people sitting around us stare at us like we’re totally batty.

Not to mention, rumor has it that Lucy still owns a pair of Hammer pants.

So imagine how thrilled we were to find out that Meez was launching a DanceJam boutique in the MeezMaker and DanceJam Hangouts in MeezNation?!?

Totally thrilled, like, totally man. Meaning we were ECSTATIC when we found out that Hammer – himself – was going to pay Meez HQ a visit… (Sadly, this happened when I was on vacation; but, Lucy said he was very gracious & cool – like you’d expect any less from HAMMER, come on!)

This has been a partnership made in heaven – we love Hammer & DanceJam – and, Hammer and DanceJam love Meez. As evidenced by a Twitter from the man himself:
